Shenton College is one of Australia’s leading co-educational schools and consists of Middle School (Years 7 & 8), Lower Senior School (Years 9 & 10) and Upper Senior School (Years 11 & 12). Our success is built on solid foundations and on the skills of an outstanding staff.

The Role
Shenton College is seeking Special Needs Education Assistants to support the College in its programs focusing on the teaching and learning of students.
As an Education Assistant, you will work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to assist in the delivery of planned education programs and create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment within a mainstream setting. This includes assisting with the implementation of the Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN), individualised learning plans and other tailored learning programs.
You will support students to develop their academic, social, emotional and physical skills, provide feedback on education and therapy programs, and contribute to the evaluation of individual student progress. The ability to support the general health, safety and wellbeing of students is also highly desirable.
We are seeking experienced, proactive and compassionate Education Assistants who have a strong understanding of inclusive education practices and a genuine commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs. You will ideally be a collaborative team member who displays initiative and flexibility, builds positive relationships with students, colleagues and families, and promotes student engagement.
You should also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to actively promote the College’s values, ethos and priorities. A sound understanding of evidence-based strategies to support learning, engagement and positive behaviour is desirable, along with experience or knowledge of a range of disabilities and the ability to adapt your approach to meet individual student needs.
