We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The West Coast Language Development Centre (LDC) is a specialist school providing early intervention for children from Kindergarten to Year 2 with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). We are seeking passionate and dedicated Education Assistants who are committed to supporting young children with language difficulties. Previous experience in education is highly advantageous, particularly experience in the early years or an education support setting.
The West Coast LDC caters for approximately 300 students across four sites in Padbury, Hamersley, Heathridge and Quinns Rocks. Successful applicants may be appointed to any of these sites and may be required to work across different sites over time.
Find out more about our school by visiting westcoastldc.wa.edu.au or Schools Online.
The Role
Education Assistants at West Coast LDC are ideally expected to support student learning and engagement across a range of settings, including one-to-one support, small group activities and whole-class learning alongside the teacher. They should display strong organisational skills, effective written and verbal communication, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. The suitable applicants will ideally be proactive, contribute ideas and work in partnership with colleagues to support the school’s direction and achieve shared goals for student outcomes.
