We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Moorditj Noongar Community School is a departmental co-educational Primary school supporting approximately 125 Aboriginal students from Midland and the wider surrounds. Moorditj Noongar was founded in 2001 and is set in the quiet surrounds of Black Adder Creek. Our classes are capped at approximately 20 students, and each class has the support of a Teacher and Education Assistant. Additional supports such as a School Psychologist, Chaplaincy, Aboriginal Indigenous Education Officers and a Speech Pathologist work collaboratively to allow for improved outcomes for our students. We aim to close the gap for our Aboriginal students and deliver rich cultural opportunities for all.

The Role

Join our team as a Mainstream Education Assistant and play a vital role in shaping the lives of students. Suitable applicants would support our teachers in delivering planned education programs and fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. This is an opportunity to make a real cultural impact in the lives of students and to develop your own skills and autonomy in a supportive environment.

You would assist teachers in delivering planned education programs, including the operation of computers and implementing individual or small group programs or demonstrations. Also, you would help maintain the learning environment by keeping equipment, materials, and resources organized and ready for use in classes and activities, and by helping to keep the classroom clean and safe. This role will provide you with the opportunity to play a positive impact in the lives of students and to develop your own skills and autonomy in a supportive environment.
