The Role

As Lead Education Assistant (EA) your role is to mentor, coach, lead and model evidence-based practices for other EAs. As an important and valued leader, you will assist in supporting the Leadership Team in leading, growing and managing the Education Assistant workforce.

The successful applicant should operate collaboratively and be able to build and maintain effective team-based relationships. They will ideally be highly professional, organised and display excellent communication skills, drawing on these attributes when working with staff, school community members and external agencies.

The Lead EA will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) by assisting EAs to deliver targeted and responsive support aligned with student needs. This includes providing guidance and training to EAs in evidence-based strategies that promote student engagement, positive behaviour and academic success across Tiers 1, 2 and 3.

Experience working with students with a range of learning needs, including ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and specific learning disorders, will be well regarded.

1. Demonstrated considerable knowledge and understanding of the delivery of education programs and/or behaviour management plans; and ability to identify problems and assist teachers and other Education Assistants in the development of strategies and solutions.
2. Demonstrated well developed oral communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, mentor, coach, induct and train other Education Assistants and professional teams, including providing advice and evaluating education programs.
3. Demonstrated well developed written communication skills, including report writing, and the ability to coordinate, collect and present student data at a whole school community level in a meaningful way.
4. Demonstrated well developed organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate staff rosters and relief to assist in the delivery of effective education programs.
