The Kimberley Development Commission (KDC) is a statutory agency of the WA Government focused on the economic and social development of the diverse and stunning Kimberley Region.

This is a rare opportunity for a dedicated and skilled leader to join the Kimberley Development Commission (KDC) with a focus on project delivery and community wellbeing. You will be part of the KDC senior leadership team, offering direct input into the strategies, investments and reforms that will shape the future of our region

You will initiate, develop and deliver a portfolio of projects that supports the region’s economic and social aspirations. You will work in close partnership with the business community, other government agencies, Aboriginal organisations and other regional stakeholders on a daily basis.

Most people working at KDC are formally employed by DPIRD under a service agreement between the two agencies. KDC works closely with DPIRD and other regional development commissions as part of the regional development portfolio.

About the opportunity

There is currently one (1) full time permanent position available for immediate filling. 

We are seeking an experienced Director to lead the Kimberley region, driving economic development, strengthening service delivery, and supporting positive outcomes for communities. You will build and maintain strong consultative and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the public and private sectors to support investment, regional development and the achievement of strategic outcomes for the region.

About You
The successful candidate will have strong previous experience in regional development, including planning and implementing complex projects within a strategic framework. The candidate will also be able to demonstrate prior knowledge and experience in shaping and managing strategy and policy, particularly in relation to economic and business development initiatives.

The successful candidate will also possess high-level written and verbal communication skills. A sound knowledge of the Kimberley region would be advantageous.

DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.

To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period as part of your application.
