The Role

Collie SHS is seeking to appoint a dynamic and relationship-focused leader to the position of Deputy Principal – Middle School. As a key member of the Executive Team, the successful applicant will play a pivotal role in promoting the school’s vision and values and fostering a positive school culture. Working collaboratively with the Executive Team and Heads of Learning Area, the Deputy Principal will support the implementation of the School Business Plan, including providing strategic leadership for the school-wide focus of Conditions for Learning.

The successful applicant will ideally have proven experience in supporting students with complex behavioural and learning needs and have the ability to build authentic partnerships with families and external agencies. Working alongside the Student Services and Inclusive Learning Coordinators, the Deputy Principal will lead the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and evidence-based intervention strategies.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to effectively manage competing priorities, and maintain high expectations for student achievement while responding to students’ social and emotional needs. They will ideally be a collaborative and compassionate educator with a strong understanding of restorative practices, a commitment to staff and student wellbeing, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people in the Collie community.
