We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Landsdale Primary School (PS) is a collaborative and inclusive learning community committed to student achievement, progress and wellbeing. Our clearly defined whole-school instructional framework guides consistent, evidence-based teaching practices. Our leaders work alongside staff to strengthen teaching quality through collaborative planning, professional learning, reflective practice and the effective use of student achievement data.
Positive relationships and a commitment to supporting the whole child underpin our school culture. Through our whole-school Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach, we explicitly teach and reinforce four shared expectations: We Are Responsible, We Are Safe, We Are Learners and We Are Kind. Together with our social and emotional learning programs, this approach supports student engagement, resilience and belonging. We value strong partnerships with families and shared responsibility for creating safe, supportive learning environments.
We are seeking approachable, reflective Deputy Principals who combine strong instructional leadership with sound judgement, effective organisation and a commitment to working collaboratively. Suitable applicants will demonstrate the capacity to lead school improvement, build staff capability through coaching and feedback, and use evidence to evaluate impact. They will bring expertise in inclusive education, complex behaviour support and restorative practices, alongside the interpersonal skills to navigate complex situations, support staff and strengthen partnerships across our school community.

The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally be enthusiastic school leaders who can lead a portfolio encompassing curriculum delivery through whole-school approaches, staff development, student services and innovative programs. Strong change management skills are highly desirable, particularly the ability to engage staff, establish shared understanding and translate school priorities into consistent classroom practice. A key responsibility will be leading the implementation and ongoing development of our whole-school mathematics approach, including professional learning, access to resources, implementation support and evaluation of its impact on student achievement and progress.
As integral members of the school leadership team, suitable applicants should contribute to our established culture of care, respect and shared responsibility. They will ideally display the ability to build cohesive, collaborative teams by developing trust, clarifying expectations and supporting staff to work towards shared goals. This includes mentoring and coaching middle leaders to strengthen their leadership skills, build cohesion within their teams and lead improvement effectively.
Suitable applicants should display strong instructional leadership through modelling effective teaching strategies, coaching colleagues and providing constructive feedback. They should also have the capacity to lead and upskill staff in understanding and responding to complex student behaviour, strengthening proactive, inclusive and restorative approaches. Working collaboratively with families, staff, external professionals and relevant agencies to address complex student needs will be an important part of the role.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead important and, at times, challenging conversations with staff, students and families are highly valued. Suitable applicants should approach these conversations with empathy, clarity and professionalism, maintaining respectful relationships while addressing concerns and upholding shared expectations.
Effective organisational and operational leadership skills are also desirable, including the ability to develop timetables that maximise available staffing and resources, respond to students’ learning and support needs, and enable whole-school priorities. Suitable applicants should remain flexible, prioritise competing demands and manage complex situations with sound judgement, resilience and compassion.
