We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Dawson Park PS is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Deputy Principal to join our leadership team. Working in close partnership with the Principal, the suitable applicants will ideally display expert knowledge of Explicit Instruction theory and pedagogy, including the effective implementation of peer observation, coaching, and feedback frameworks to strengthen teaching practice and student outcomes. The suitable applicants will ideally play a key role in further enhancing Dawson Park PS’s reputation as a high-performing school recognised for outstanding implementation of Explicit Instruction, leading professional learning opportunities that build staff capability and promote consistent, evidence-based practice across the school.
With a strong focus on Student Services, the suitable applicants will ideally possess a comprehensive understanding of Department of Education processes and systems supporting students at educational risk, alongside expertise in trauma-informed practice and multi-tiered systems of support. The role requires collaborative leaders who can develop and sustain strong partnerships with families, community agencies, and external stakeholders to improve outcomes for all students. The suitable applicants will ideally lead targeted intervention programs, champion cultural responsiveness across the school, and support the delivery of high-quality Early Childhood programs.
The suitable applicants will ideally display the ability to lead staff in the collection, analysis and interpretation of student achievement, engagement and wellbeing data. The suitable applicants should work collaboratively with teams to develop and implement evidence-informed operational plans that drive continuous improvement and improve outcomes for all students. They will ideally be committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive and high-performing school culture where every student is known, valued and supported to achieve success.
