We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Subiaco Primary School (PS) is ideally seeking accomplished and highly experienced school leaders with a sustained record of impact to join its executive leadership team.

The Role
The Deputy Principal is a key member of the leadership team and ideally works closely with the Principal and other school leaders and staff to lead school improvement and support the effective operation of the school. Suitable applicants would provide strategic and instructional leadership that supports the school's vision, values and priorities.
Suitable applicants should display the capacity to balance whole-school improvement priorities with the complex, day-to-day operational demands of a large school. Suitable applicants will ideally be proactive, solutions-focused and highly organised, exercising sound judgement and a strong work ethic while managing competing priorities, responding effectively to emerging issues and ensuring tasks are followed through to completion.
Suitable applicants will ideally be highly effective instructional leader with a displayed record of improving teaching quality and student outcomes through coaching, collaboration and evidence-informed practice. Experience leading professional learning communities, coaching programs, curriculum implementation, professional learning and data-informed improvement processes will be highly regarded.
Suitable applicants will ideally display the following attributes and capabilities:
- the ability to lead whole-school improvement and translate strategic priorities into clear and sustainable practice.
- highly developed organisational skills, initiative and the capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a cohesive leadership team.
- the ability to use student and school performance data to identify priorities, guide decisions and evaluate the impact of improvement strategies.
- exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, families and community members.
- the ability to build leadership capacity in others and support a staff culture based on collaboration, accountability, wellbeing and professional growth.
- a strong understanding of student voice, agency, wellbeing and inclusive practices, and how these contribute to student engagement and achievement.
Portfolio responsibilities may be aligned with the strengths of the suitable applicants and the needs of the school. Suitable applicants should be able to strengthen systems and processes, support staff through change and contribute to a school culture where people feel valued, supported and accountable for achieving positive outcomes for students.
