The Insurance Commission of Western Australia is a state-owned Government Trading Enterprise that provides motor injury insurance to 2.7 million Western Australian motorists and manages the self-insurance arrangements of the Western Australian Government. The Opportunity

We are pleased to offer a permanent Data Architect opportunity within our Architecture and Delivery function.

Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, you will define and govern enterprise data architecture standards, patterns and roadmaps aligned with the organisational strategy. Working across business and technology functions, you will provide trusted advice and architectural assurance to support secure, scalable and trusted data, analytics and AI capabilities.

About You

You are a strategic and experienced Data Architect with a strong track record of defining and governing enterprise data architecture within complex organisations. You have the ability to translate business and information management requirements into scalable, secure and practical data solutions that support trusted decision-making, analytics and AI outcomes.

Your expertise spans enterprise data modelling, data governance, metadata, lineage, integration, cloud-based data platforms and modern analytics architectures. You are a trusted advisor who can influence stakeholders, establish standards and governance practices, and ensure data assets are managed as a strategic enterprise capability.

You will bring:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or certifications in data architecture, information management or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience designing enterprise data architectures and governance frameworks.
  • Expertise in data modelling, governance, quality, metadata, lineage and information management.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, analytics, Lakehouse architectures and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Strong knowledge of integration, APIs, master data management and interoperability principles.
  • Proven ability to deliver secure, scalable and trusted data solutions while influencing stakeholders and guiding strategic data decisions.

Appointment Information

In addition to the immediately available position, appointments may be made from this process within a twelve-month period to similar positions that may be permanent or contract, including fixed term appointments with the possibility of extension or subsequent permanency.
