The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and capable property professional to join our Maritime Directorate as a Commercial Property Manager (Level 6).

This exciting Perth-based role plays a key part in managing maritime commercial leasing activities across Western Australia, supporting the safe and sustainable use of the State's waterways, land and coastal infrastructure. Working within a collaborative and high-performing team, you will lead the oversight of commercial property managers, manage lease and sublease arrangements, and provide specialist leasing advice on a diverse portfolio of maritime assets.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, negotiate leasing outcomes, contribute to property strategies and initiatives, and support the delivery of effective leasing and commercial property outcomes. The role also provides opportunities to influence property management practices, contribute to budgeting and reporting activities, and help shape the future management of regional and metropolitan marine facilities across Western Australia.

Please note: The business area is currently undertaking a structural review, and this position forms part of that review. As a result, changes to the Job Description Form (JDF) and reporting lines may occur in the future. This review is being undertaken in accordance with the Public Sector Management Act 1994.

The Ideal Candidate

The panel will be assessing applicants against the following suitability requirements:

1. Substantial experience in commercial property and leasing management including, briefing stakeholders on complex property management and leasing issues.
2. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate leasing outcomes where there may be conflicting viewpoints.
3. Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare complex briefing notes and/or formal correspondence on property management matters.
4. Experience in financial management and reporting including budgets.
5. Work collaboratively with a diverse range of people and manage challenging interactions professionally and respectfully or
6. Build and maintain effective working relationships by listening to others, communicating openly and respectfully, recognising different perspectives, and working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes.
7. Relationship-focused and able to build productive partnerships
8. Strong negotiator who can achieve practical outcomes in complex leasing and property matters
