The Mental Health Crisis Centre is operational 24/7, the shifts for these positions will cover the 24/7hr operational hours.

We are seeking a passionate and empathetic Peer Worker Lived Experience to join our MH team. In this role, you will use your personal journey of recovery to support, inspire, and empower individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The successful applicant/(s) shall be a member of the SMHS Mental Health multidisciplinary team, and providing discipline specific quality, recovery orientated services with consumers and/or their support network persons to assist in their recovery. Drawing on their personal Lived Experience mental health and/or Alcohol and or Other Drug (AOD) recovery, the Peer Worker engages purposefully with consumers and their support persons, providing unique insight, specialised input, hope, support and system navigation throughout the ‘patient journey’ at the 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Centre. The Peer Worker also advises the health service on Lived Experience perspectives and contributes to the continued learning of staff in partnering with consumers and trauma informed care.
