We are seeking applications from capable, experienced and values-driven Senior nurses to provide clinical leadership across all aspects of nursing service delivery and professional practice within Ward C16 - Acute Medical Care of the Elderly and Delirium Care Unit at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) in Nedlands.

This is a Permanent vacancy at 76 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE).

What is our Clinical Nurse Specialist role?

As a part of the Department of Geriatric Acute and Rehabilitation Medicine the successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and management of Ward C16; a 29-bed ward providing Acute Medical Care of the Elderly with a dedicated unit for specialised acute care and management of patients with delirium. In this rewarding role, you will provide:

  • Expert clinical and professional leadership, champion evidence-based practice, and support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will enhance patient outcomes and experiences, mentor and develop nursing and support staff, lead quality and safety initiatives, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Partnering with the Nurse Manager, you will also contribute to effective resource management, strong clinical governance and foster a positive team culture to ensure excellence in care delivery.

Suitable applicants should have a minimum 2 years experience in the clinical specialty Acute Medical Care of the Elderly and be available to commence within 4 - 6 weeks of offer of appointment. 

This position practises as a Senior Registered Nurse (SRN) in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart; provides clinical leadership and management within the organisation, clinical division and area(s) of responsibility; upholds and functions within the core values of the organisation and nursing values of Accountability, Compassion, Continuous Learning & Teamwork.
