This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment until 31/07/2027 with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Position Profile: Responsible for providing a timely and specialised clinical mental health nursing consultancy service to the Emergency Department and other areas of Bunbury Regional Hospital. The prime directive of this post is to triage and conduct primary assessments of all patients presenting to the Emergency Department and who may be considered either at risk or as requiring specialised mental health assessment. Priorities include consultation services to clinicians (medical and nursing), providing assistance and information to carers and liaising with relevant others as required in all areas of the hospital.

- Advanced Mental Health Assessment and Risk Management
Demonstrated ability to independently assess, prioritise and manage complex and high-risk mental health presentations within an acute healthcare environment, applying advanced clinical judgement to support safe, timely and person-centred care outcomes.

Demonstrated ability to provide specialist clinical leadership and expert consultation that supports multidisciplinary decision making, strengthens clinical capability and facilitates coordinated care across hospital and external service networks.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective therapeutic and professional relationships, influence outcomes and engage constructively with consumers, carers, clinicians and partner agencies in complex and challenging situations.
- Professional Accountability and Governance
Demonstrated commitment to professional nursing standards, legislative compliance and clinical governance, ensuring safe, ethical and evidence-informed practice while contributing to service quality, risk management and continuous improvement.
- Operational Effectiveness and Service Improvement
Demonstrated ability to utilise information systems, manage clinical information and contribute to service development initiatives that improve patient pathways, support organisational objectives and enhance service delivery within a dynamic healthcare environment.
