You will be responsible for developing, analysing, implementing and monitoring safety and quality improvement activities within PCC. Using your clinical expertise, analytical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practice, you will identify risks and opportunities for improvement and translate these into meaningful and sustainable changes in clinical practice.
A key focus of the role will be supporting clinical staff to understand and apply quality improvement principles, participate in clinical audits, and use data and evidence to evaluate and improve practice.
Working closely with nursing, medical and allied health professionals, you will contribute to clinical practice reviews, policy and guideline reviews, clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives that support the delivery of safe, high-quality and evidence-based nursing care.
You will also be responsible for the collection, coding, analysis and interpretation of clinical and quality data to inform decision-making, monitor performance and evaluate the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include
- Reviewing clinical practice, policies, guidelines and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure care is evidence based.
- Collecting, monitoring and analysing quality and clinical data to evaluate the effectiveness of change and inform decision-making.
- Supporting the collection and quality of ANZPIC data, QUOKA auditing and Quality Improvement Plans.
- Monitoring and reviewing nursing practice, clinical pathways, policies and procedures, supporting a risk management approach to patient care.
- Identifying opportunities for innovation and facilitating the implementation of sustainable improvements in clinical practice.
- Contributing to education and professional development programs for nursing and medical staff.
- Providing clinical supervision and support to less experienced nursing staff within the practice setting.
- Promoting a positive culture of teamwork, shared decision-making, patient safety and continuous improvement.
If you have demonstrated experience working with NSQHS standards, together with experience in quality improvement, clinical audit, evidence-based practice and the application of nursing research, we encourage you to apply.
Experience in the collection and analysis of clinical data and the use of electronic data systems will also be highly valued.
