This is a permanent, full time vacancy

About the role

The Clerical Officer provides secretarial and administrative support to the Business Manager to assist with the efficient and effective operation of the Prison including reception (front desk) and prisoner mail processing. This position will also be required to provide support to the administration and finance teams within the prison as required.

Suitability Requirements

  • Strong administrative and clerical skills, including experience in customer service, data entry and reception functions.
  • A positive approach to work, with a demonstrated ability to contribute to a supportive workplace culture that values respect, accountability, cooperation, and continuous improvement.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, listen actively, and tailor communication to meet the needs of different audiences.

Candidates who can demonstrate these capabilities, together with a strong commitment to maintaining a positive workplace culture, will be well placed to succeed in this role.
