About the roles

The Clerical Officer is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support to assist efficient and effective operation at Wooroloo Prison Farm. The position is also responsible for processing all prisoner visit bookings via phone and/or forms and maintaining contact information for the Centre’s phone system.

The Gratuities Clerk is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations and administration duties including maintaining the gratuity and scheduling functions within Wooroloo Prison Farm.  In addition, the position provides relief for other Level 1 Clerical positions as required.

Suitability Requirements

Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for candidates who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following:

Integrity A demonstrated commitment to adhere to the Code of Conduct, behave honestly and ethically.  Applies self stay calm and professional under pressure, and provide accurate information to others. Provides accurate information, checks and confirms accuracy prior to release. Acknowledges mistakes and learns from them, and seeks guidance and advice when required.

Administration Skills - Demonstrated experience in a range of administrative skills including front line customer service and electronic file management in a demanding office environment with multiple priorities and deadlines under a line management structure.

IT Skills – A demonstratable moderate level of ability including trouble shooting computers, setting up workstations, adapting to new and changing software, connecting to printing and scanning, basic ability to trouble shoot with co workers onsite and in sub office locations in regards to any IT equipment.

Communicate Effectively - The ability to explain information using language appropriate to the stakeholder while limiting the use of jargon, listening and asking questions to ensure understanding and to confirm that any information has been understood and discuss issues calmly.

Eligibility

Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
