The Role

The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for coordinating and supervising the school cleaning team to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained learning environment. The role includes opening and securing the school premises, including the operation of security alarm systems, and ensuring cleaning services are delivered efficiently and in accordance with Department policies, procedures, and standards.

The successful applicant would oversee daily staffing requirements, maintain attendance and time records, arrange relief staff as required, and provide induction and on-the-job training for new cleaners. Working closely with the Manager Corporate Services, the Cleaner in Charge will support the management of cleaning operations, participate in regular cleaning inspections, and ensure all leave, allowance, and administrative documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
