About the role
We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join the Litigation Industrial Relations Team and support the team's current and emerging need for complex advocacy, strategic advice and representation capability.
The successful applicant will provide advice and representation in relation to a broad range of employment and industrial relations matters, including complex industrial disputes such as disciplinary matters, unfair dismissals, entitlement claims, enterprise bargaining matters and other proceedings before the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission and other courts and tribunals.
The role will involve the provision of strategic industrial relations advice, advocacy and representation services, and engagement with senior stakeholders across government.

Classification
This is a single vacancy.
The position may be filled at either L4LG, L5LG or L6LG, depending on the qualifications, experience, capability and skills demonstrated by the successful applicant.
Applicants should address the requirements of the role as detailed in the "About you" section below. The classification level offered to the successful candidate will be determined following an assessment of the each applicant's capability and experience against the requirements of the position.
About you
To be successful in this role, for the classification level sought, you will need to demonstrate:
- a thorough understanding of employment law and management of industrial relations;
- relevant experience as a legal representative before courts and tribunals;
- experience in giving timely, strategic and legal advice in respect of employment law and managing industrial relations;
- an ability to effectively manage complex and sensitive matters;
- a track record of productive stakeholder engagement and client relationship management; and
- an ability to exercise sound judgement and operate autonomously.
