Chief Financial Officer
This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment for 5 years, with the possibility of extension(s).
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and committed leader for the role of Chief Financial Officer at the North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS).

As Chief Financial Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping strategic decisions, leading financial reform and embedding financial stewardship across one of Western Australia’s largest health services.
About the Role
As a member of the NMHS Executive, reporting to the Chief Executive, you will operate at the centre of executive decision making, integrating financial, workforce and service considerations to support high quality patient care and system sustainability.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the design and delivery of financial strategy, reform and performance improvement across NMHS.
- Translate financial strategy into practical, measurable outcomes across clinical and corporate services.
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary finance teams, ensuring alignment between financial strategy and operational delivery.
- Oversee enterprise financial performance, forecasting and risk management in a complex and evolving environment.
- Partner with clinical and corporate leaders, and external stakeholders including the Department of Health, to support financial performance and service delivery outcomes.
- Influence decision-making at Executive and Board level through forward-looking financial insight.
- Drive organisation wide cultural change linked to financial accountability and performance.

Applicant Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Significant executive leadership experience in financial strategy, performance and reform within a large, complex organisation.
- A proven track record leading financial sustainability initiatives, budget management and organisational performance improvement.
- The ability to influence executive, board and operational decision-making through strategic financial advice and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams and driving a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and change.
- Relevant professional qualifications (CPA, CA or equivalent) together with the integrity, judgement and professionalism required of a senior executive leader.

Eligibility
Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for appointment to permanent positions in the public sector.
