We are establishing a Casual Open Pool for Student Support Officer vacancies.

South Regional TAFE (SR TAFE) is seeking Registrations of Interest from suitably qualified people who are interested in casual Administrative/Support /Customer Service work. There is no guarantee of work; the aim is to develop a register of casual staff for relief purposes or to offer training in specific areas of expertise as the need arises.

About the opportunity
Student Support Officers enable the college to achieve strategic goals by providing students, clients and industry stakeholders with a high quality student services experience by acting as the single point of contact to assist and support our current students; administering specialist student support services to students with disabilities, aboriginal and international students; performing general administrative tasks, duties and functions; and participating in College events and student-orientated activities and presentations.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience and the ability to: 

  • Provides exceptional customer services and acts as the primary point of contact for current students through a variety of communication formats, including face to face, phone and electronic.
  • Provides accurate and timely advice to students, internal and external stakeholders about support services and administrative processes and follows up as required.
  • Provides information and advice in matters such as the College’s compliant and feedback processes and with initiatives that enhance the student experience.
  • Performs general customer service, reception, client liaison duties, tasks and functions as required.
  • Provides administrative support as required, including performing the following tasks and duties:
  • Scheduling meetings, coordinate and case manage student documentation in a high volume work environment.
  • Undertakes data entry and validation in a range of general and specialist electronic systems, programs and platforms (including Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint, Student Management Systems, timetabling software, databases and the electronic record management system).
  • Drafts, proofreads, edits and formats a range of documents, including emails, reports, meeting minutes, case notes and general correspondence and circulate to relevant stakeholders.
  • Undertakes records management tasks including scanning, filing, archiving, information retrieval and managing information workflows.
  • Customising, proofreading and editing written material for various platforms (including online)
  • Contributes to the College’s continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on positive experiences for students.

Suitability requirements
To be eligible to be appointed to this role, you will also need the following:

  • That you can live and work in Australia (e.g. Australian citizen, permanent residency status or current visa holder).
  • Obtain a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal History Check (details will be advised prior to appointment).
  • Obtain a working with children (WWC) card.
