About the role
The Business Services Manager is responsible for leading the Commission’s business services functions and providing strategic and operational advice on financial management, workforce management, governance, business planning and organizational performance. The role ensures the delivery of effective corporate services, drives continuous improvement and organisational capability initiatives, and supports the Commission to achieve its strategic and operational objectives through sound governance, informed decision-making and effective resource management.
The position provides critical strategic and operational advice to the Commissioner on business functions, and contributes to the broader strategic direction of the Commission.
Suitability Requirements
Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for a candidate who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following:
Strategic Leadership and Business Management
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and operational leadership across a range of business service functions, including financial management, workforce planning, governance, risk management and organisational performance.
Financial and Resource Management
Proven experience managing financial, human and physical resources, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, workforce management and the development of systems and processes that support organisational objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
Highly developed communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to provide trusted advice, influence outcomes and build productive partnerships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Business Improvement and Operational Excellence
Demonstrated ability to lead organisational improvement initiatives, manage change and implement business systems, policies and frameworks that enhance efficiency, compliance and service delivery outcomes.
Leadership, People Development and Public Sector Values
A collaborative and values-driven leader who builds team capability, promotes a positive workplace culture, demonstrates sound judgement and integrity, and embodies the principles of public sector leadership and ethical conduct.
