About the role

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and secretarial support to the Museum of Geraldton.

About you

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual who loves working in a positive team environment and enjoys a challenge.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Provide administrative support to the Regional Manager and staff of the Museum of Geraldton including administration related to Retail, Finance and Human Resources processes.
  • Undertake stakeholder engagement such as taking/making phone calls, scheduling meetings and responding to phone and email enquiries.
  • Arrange meetings including preparation of agenda and meeting papers and taking minutes when required.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a busy work environment with competing demands, with good organisational skills to prioritise work to address time critical task
  • Experience in working both independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated high level of computer skills including word processing, electronic diary management, and electronic records management including customer relationship management databases, and generally operating in an online environment.

Eligibility to Apply

  • To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia at the time of appointment. This may include Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or holders of a valid Visa that permits employment in Australia.
  • A current (within six (6) months) National Police Clearance Certificatewill be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

Pool Recruitment

This Pool will be open for a period of 18 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term and part-time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

Applicants found suitable in this Pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies with the WA Museum and the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, and Sport (CITS) for the duration of the Pool.
