The Role

Kalgoorlie PS is seeking a practical, hands on Facilities Officer who takes pride in maintaining high quality grounds, buildings and equipment. This position is ideal for someone with experience in gardening, irrigation, turf management, parks and gardens, facilities maintenance or a similar field who is looking for a rewarding role within a school environment.

Working closely with the Principal and Manager Corporate Services, you will play an important role in ensuring our school remains a safe, functional and welcoming place for students, staff and the wider community. You will coordinate day to day maintenance activities, identify and address facility issues, organise repairs and contractors, assist with minor works projects, and help maintain the presentation and functionality of the school's grounds and infrastructure.

This role would suit someone who enjoys variety in their work and likes to see the tangible results of their efforts. Success in the position requires initiative, sound practical judgement and the ability to build positive relationships with contractors, suppliers and school staff. Whether it is identifying a maintenance issue before it becomes a larger problem, coordinating repairs, monitoring grounds and irrigation systems, or supporting improvements to the school environment, you will be trusted to take ownership and make a meaningful contribution to the school community.

Kalgoorlie PS is particularly interested in applicants who bring experience in maintaining landscaped areas, operating plant and equipment, managing irrigation systems, coordinating maintenance works and ensuring facilities are presented to a high standard. Experience gained through local government, schools, sporting facilities, parks, golf courses, mining villages or similar environments would be highly regarded.

In return, we offer the opportunity to join a supportive and community focused workplace where your contribution is valued. You will enjoy the stability and conditions of public sector employment while working in a role that directly enhances the learning environment for local children. Every improvement you make to the school's facilities and grounds contributes to creating an environment where students can thrive.

If you are a motivated and reliable person who enjoys practical problem solving, takes pride in maintaining quality facilities and is looking for a role that offers both purpose and work life balance, we encourage you to apply.
