About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administration Officer to join the Compliance Team within the Built Environment branch. In this varied role, you will provide essential administrative and business support that helps the team operate efficiently and deliver on key priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-level administrative support to the Compliance Team, ensuring the effective day-to-day management of activities, priorities and business outcomes.
- Coordinating meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagements, including preparing agendas, briefing materials and supporting documentation, recording accurate minutes, tracking actions and facilitating prompt follow-up to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
- Managing a diverse range of business support functions, including financial administration, procurement activities travel and accommodation arrangements, records management, and the maintenance of business systems, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Developing, implementing, and continuously improving administrative processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency, streamline operations, improve service delivery, and support business objectives.
- Exercising initiative and sound judgement in managing competing priorities, resolving routine operational matters, and escalating complex issues where appropriate.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders cross the organisation to coordinate information, support projects, and assist in achieving team objectives.
- Researching, compiling, and preparing reports, briefings, and other information to support decision-making and reporting requirements.

Eligibility To Apply
You must be an Australian Citizen or hold permanent residency.
National Police Certificate
A condition of employment for new employees of DFES is that a current National Police Certificate (less than 3 months old) is provided prior to commencement.
Choice of Super
The Fire and Emergency Services (Superannuation Fund) Regulations 1986, prevents DFES from offering choice of super for permanent appointments. Those appointed permanently, only have the following two options:
- Remain with their existing GESB Superannuation account; or
- Join the Fire and Emergency Services Superannuation Fund (Click here for more information).
Those appointed on a fixed term contract do have choice of super, however if converted to permanent, employees will need to choose one on the two options listed above.
