Using this website

We have designed this website to be easy to use for as many people as possible. You should be able to:

  • use a keyboard to navigate most of the website
  • zoom in to at least 200% without losing content or functionality
  • use common assistive technologies, such as screen readers
  • read content written in clear, straightforward language.

We also aim to reduce unnecessary complexity by:

  • using plain English where possible
  • keeping layouts clear and consistent
  • breaking information into smaller, easy-to-read sections.

Using a keyboard

You can navigate this website without using a mouse.

  • Press Tab to move to the next link or interactive element
  • Press Enter to activate the selected item
  • Press Shift + Tab to move backwards
  • Skip links are available at the top of each page to help you quickly move to different sections of the page. These are especially useful for screen reader users and people viewing the site at high zoom levels.

Changing text size

If you need larger text, you can zoom in using keyboard shortcuts on your computer.

You can:

  • use your browser's zoom controls
  • press Ctrl and + or - on Windows, or Command and + or - on Mac
  • hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) while scrolling with your mouse wheel.

Links

Where possible, links clearly describe where they will take you.

Most links open in the same browser tab. Some exceptions include:

  • documents, which usually open in a new tab or window
  • external application or job application websites, which also open in a new tab or window and indicate this before you select them.

Images

Images that provide important information include text descriptions for people using screen readers. Decorative images do not include alternative text.

Tables

When tables are used, they are designed to present data in a way that works with assistive technologies.

Documents

Where possible, documents are provided in accessible formats.

Some documents supplied by external organisations or included with job advertisements may not fully meet accessibility standards. We cannot control the accessibility of these third-party documents.

Opening documents

You may need additional software to view some documents. Free options include:

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader for PDF files
  • Microsoft 365 for the web
  • Apache OpenOffice.

Our commitment

We are committed to making this website accessible and improving it over time.

We regularly review our content and services to better meet accessibility standards and the needs of our users. While we aim for all content to be accessible, some areas may not yet fully meet these standards, and we continue to work on improvements.

External websites

We are not responsible for the accessibility of websites that we link to but do not manage.
