The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) works with partners across government and within its diverse sectors to enliven the Western Australian community and economy through support for and provision of sporting, recreational, cultural and artistic policy, programs and activities for locals and visitors to the State.

About the role
This position contributes to the development and implementation of the community engagement model and operational plan for the Office of Multicultural Interests (OMI) to build the capacity of the Western Australian CaLD community. The Officer engages with CaLD communities, the public sector and the business sector to develop and implement strategies and programs aimed at achieving the full potential of multiculturalism.
Conditions
This is a full-time, fixed-term vacancy, for a period of 12 months, with a possibility of extension.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the DLGSC within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.
Location
The Office of Multicultural Interests is based at Gordon Stephenson House, 140 William Street, Perth.
