ABOUT OUR RESIDENTIAL CARE HOMES
Residential Group Homes provide 24 hour care for children in the care of the Department. There are 22 homes located around the state; 14 in the Perth metropolitan area, and 8 in regional areas. In the homes there are up to four young people residing in the households at any time. These children can range in ages from 0 to 17 years.

LOCATION
Geraldton is a bustling coastal town situated in the Murchison region of Western Australia. The city is approximately 424 km north of Perth a leisurely five hour drive. There are also regular bus and flight services between Perth City and Geraldton.
Living in Geraldton is like country living in the city, beachside alongside rural life. There is an abundance of lifestyle options available catering for a broad audience. The town offers first class sporting and recreational facilities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Residential Care Workers assist with the coordination of assessments and residential plans for the children and provide a high standard of therapeutic care consistent with the program’s objectives.
Other duties include:
- Planning, coordinating and participating in the daily life and recreational activities with children and young people to promote positive growth and development
- Following up on outstanding tasks and contributes towards identifying outcomes for children and young people
- Providing accurate written case notes and recording of activities and critical incidents to assist with the record keeping to meet statutory requirements
- Participating in training, performance management and staff development programs
As all of our residential group homes provide 24 hour care, Residential Care Workers are required to undertake shift-work, including evenings, weekends and public holidays. Penalty rates may apply.
