We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officer’s for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during Term 4, 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Newborough Primary School became an Independent Public School in 2012. The school has had a proud history since it was founded in 1955. Since then, extensive renovations and extensions have created a pleasant educational facility. This includes a purpose-built library, an undercover area that is fully enclosed and excellent early childhood facilities. The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to efficiently meet deadlines, working autonomously or with other school support staff. The School Officer/s will excel in the provision of general clerical and administrative tasks, displaying exemplary attention to detail in the accurate maintenance of school databases and the preparation of correspondence, newsletters, notices and financial processing.

The School Officer would play a critical role in assisting and supporting the Manager Corporate Services in the accurate and timely processing of financial matters in accordance with Departmental procedures, ensuring the smooth financial operation of the school. This may include tasks such as undertaking account and GST coding, reconciling financial records and processing invoices. School Officers also assist with month-end procedures such as transporting receipts to the bank and maintaining data integrity. They would be responsible for collating figures for financial planning and budgeting, which will help the school make informed decisions about its resources.

In addition to financial management, the School Officer would also assist with the management of school assets. This may include overseeing the administration of out-of-hours use of school facilities, coordinating and negotiating maintenance and repairs, and maintaining key registers and security system codes. They should assist with the induction and support of administrative school support staff, by developing induction programs and materials and coordinating relief staff.

Suitable applicants should be proficient at operating and maintaining office equipment, including monitoring and ordering office consumables. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is highly regarded, and experience in the Department of Education (DOE) software systems and software packages is highly desirable, including Compass, HRMIS, Integris, RM Finance, RM Billing and Asset Manager.

This role requires applicants who ideally possess strong organisational skills in delivering and prioritising tasks when under pressure. As a team player, you should possess good verbal and written communication and be able to liaise with staff, students, families and visitors. As the first point of contact for staff, students, and visitors to our school, you should be friendly, confident, articulate, organised, and approachable. Therefore, the ability to multitask and manage the pressure of working in a busy, open plan office is highly desirable.
