At Paraburdoo Primary School (PS), our purpose is to ensure every child is provided with every opportunity every day to develop the skills and knowledge they require to become resilient, well balanced, successful individuals who function positively in society and throughout life.
Paraburdoo PS caters for approximately 200 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in the Ashburton Shire of the Pilbara. It is the only school in town with enrolments fluctuating depending on the strength of the mining industry. The Role
Paraburdoo PS is seeking a passionate and dedicated educator for an internal relief primary teaching position, committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and the broader school community. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher to demonstrate leadership capacity and support the consistency of whole school approaches, or for an early career teacher to develop their knowledge and build confidence across a diverse Kindergarten – Year 6 (K-6) cohort.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and skilled teacher who demonstrates exemplary teaching practices and strong communication skills when working with colleagues, students and families. The successful applicant will ideally be a flexible and collaborative team player, committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning through engaging and Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI), including strategies such as daily reviews, active engagement tactics and intentional lesson design.
Our ideal applicant will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collegially with staff, parents and community members. A working knowledge of and experience in implementing whole-school programs such as Spelling Mastery, Top Ten Mathematics and Positive Behaviour Support is highly desirable.

A sound understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum is highly regarded. Applicants should also demonstrate the capacity to differentiate and individualise instruction to support the diverse learning needs of all students, including those with additional needs. Experience or a strong interest in working with Aboriginal students and fostering pride in identity and culture will be considered an asset.
