The Role

As a member of our team, you will ideally be a conscientious, flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to supporting and improving students achieve their full potential. To be successful in this role, you would ideally have broad skills and proficient knowledge across different curriculums to deliver quality lessons and engage students.

As a Secondary Generalist teacher working across a number of learning areas, the ideal applicant should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, parents, staff and the wider community. The ability to build and develop positive relationships with students is paramount.

The successful applicant will ideally be able to apply different teaching strategies to connect with students, create a safe and engaging learning environment and ultimately improve student outcomes. The capacity to use data and make evidence-based decisions to promote learning and excellence is highly desirable. Experience with High Impact Teaching Strategies would be desirable as the school has an established Whole School Instructional Framework.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Kambalda West District High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $5 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
