The Role
Duncraig SHS is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics Teachers. Suitable applicants will ideally be dedicated and highly motivated educators with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Applicants will ideally have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, be able to deliver content in an engaging manner, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a highly effective team member. Experience with Gifted and Talented students and a demonstrated ability to effectively differentiate for both academic extension and Students at Educational Risk (SAER) will be highly valued.
Duncraig SHS offers a range of extra curricula programs and opportunities for students, applicants who demonstrate a history and/or passion for being involved in these important complementary programs would be highly regarded.
Suitable applicants will ideally be improvement focused and should be committed to their own ongoing professional development. Duncraig SHS places significant focus on the quality of teaching and learning. The school has worked collaboratively with staff and have embedded a Teaching and Learning framework and model that support best practices in the classroom and teacher development, which maximise student engagement and outcomes. Suitable applicants should have a genuine interest in working in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area (HOLA) to facilitate refinements in pedagogy, curriculum and student achievement across Year 7 to Year 12.
Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging ICT based technologies in the classroom is important as Duncraig SHS operates a 1:1 personal ICT device policy that is firmly embedded across all learning areas. A familiarity with online teaching and learning platforms such as SEQTA or Compass will be well regarded.
