Why we need you
We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically skilled individual with expertise in digital data management (CAD and GIS) and a strong interest in statutory planning to grow professionally in the role of Planning Information Officer. This role requires the ability to interpret and apply planning legislation, and standards, and whilst not essential, a qualification in urban planning or civil engineering/drafting is desirable.
As a member of the Road Planning Branch, you will assist the Planning Information Manager in managing road planning information data and statutory planning referral processes. You will contribute to the creation and enhancement of spatial data, procedures, systems, standards, and guidelines for the storage and retrieval of road planning information. Additionally, you will respond to transport -related planning enquiries and statutory referrals. Utilising computer- aided design (CAD) and geographic information systems (GIS), you will interpret technical and cadastral drawings and provide essential road planning related information and spatial services to both internal and external stakeholders.
To excel in this role, you should have proficiency in the preparation, storage, and retrieval of spatial data and digital information, along with knowledge of interpreting transport planning information and road designs. Strong abilities in stakeholder engagement and customer relationship management are essential. An understanding of strategic and statutory land use planning processes is crucial to ensure the integrity, efficiency, and safety of the State’s road network.
