North East Metropolitan Language Development Centre (NEMLDC) is seeking to establish a pool of Early Childhood Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2025 school year.
NEMLDC provide specialist speech, language,1 and academic intervention for children from Kindergarten to Year 2. Staff members work and plan collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team which includes teachers, speech pathologists, occupational therapist, school psychologist, education assistants and administration staff. Our individualised specialist language programs are integrated into the Western Australian Curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework.
NEMLDC has over 300 students enrolled across three campuses which are co-located with West Morley, Beechboro and North Balga Primary Schools. Teachers may be placed at any campus and may change campus locations according to the needs of the school. The Role
Suitable applicants should be able to work within a dynamic and collaborative team environment, be committed to whole school approaches and possess a strong evidence-based approach to teaching and learning. As an Early Childhood Education Teacher, you will provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging, and differentiated to cater for the specific needs of our students. You should have the capacity to use innovative technologies to enhance student learning, and you will ideally have a sound understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
Suitable applicants offered a position will be provided with intensive, specialised training and induction to develop their skills and understanding of DLD and how to best support the needs of their students. Suitable applicants will be provided ongoing support through allocated coaches, performance development and collaborative learning.
To be suitable you will ideally be flexible, energetic and prepared to engage in partnerships with colleagues, speech pathologists, parents and other agencies. The ability to apply current evidence-based research to classroom practice is highly desirable. We are seeking teachers with strong classroom and positive behaviour support skills to successfully engage students and facilitate their learning.
