We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As a suitable applicant, your responsibilities will include assisting in the implementation of specialised education programs which may include recommendations from occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and other allied services under the teacher's direction. You will support the delivery of planned education programs, utilising computers and digital technologies, and conduct individual or small group sessions or demonstrations. As a suitable applicant you will ideally be able to use a restorative and trauma informed approach to build positive, trusting relationships with students, and provide feedback on education and therapy programs when required, participating in evaluating the achievement of special education goals. Additionally, you will report student progress to caregivers or parents as directed by the teacher. As a suitable applicant, you will be responsible for gathering resources and administrative documents, managing classroom resources by maintaining and updating inventory lists, monitoring stock levels as required.

- knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
