The Role
As an Education Assistant you will under teacher direction, assist in the implementation of specialised education programs and maintain a supportive, inclusive education program to meet the specific needs of students. Suitable applicants should display a commitment to working collaboratively and building positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community.
Suitable applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ideally be versatile with the ability to work well under pressure and as a team player. You should possess a calm, positive and professional manner and have the ability to use your initiative to assist the teacher with the general care and wellbeing of students and maintenance of the learning environment.
The priorities and goals of this position are to assist students to reach their full potential through the development of their academic, physical and social skills. You should also have a strong knowledge of a range of evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour and have some experience or knowledge of disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder.

- good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists
- ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- ability to assist with general health and well-being of students
