East Victoria Park Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking dynamic and motivated Special Needs Education Assistants to join their welcoming team.

The Role
The successful applicants will assist teaching staff in the delivery and assessment of planned education programs, and ideally in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will work under general supervision or autonomously and contribute advice and expertise, collaborating with school community members to support student achievement.
You should be committed to enhancing students’ learning opportunities through ongoing reflective classroom practice as well as plan and engage in professional learning opportunities which includes collaboration with colleagues. You should also contribute to and maintain a team environment.
Our school caters for approximately 46 children from Kindergarten to Year 6 with cognitive, intellectual and/or physical disabilities. Applicants who have experience in working with students with special needs in a primary Education Support setting, as well as experience in working with children with Autism, Intellectual Disability, Physical Disability and complex behavioural needs will be highly regarded.
Familiarity in effectively using Augmentative Alternative Communication to support learning, Positive Behaviour Support and Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communication related Handicapped Children (TEACCH) and Zones of Regulation Program is highly desirable.

- effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists.
- ability to assist with the general health and well being of students.
