About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Operational Modelling and Visualisation Manager, this role is responsible for developing visualisation outputs in various media formats and from various operational inputs (including traffic models, road designs (AutoCAD), GIS data, traffic data, videos, images, and technical specification) for use by Main Roads to help communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

The successful applicant will fully understand methods to convert operational model traffic outputs into realistic visualisation deliverables such as renders and animations, with skills across a number of software packages including 3DS Max, Maya, Unity, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and similar. You will demonstrate competency across;

  • Producing animation, driving simulator and visual effects
  • The ability to integrate operational model outputs (e.g. Vissim and Aimsun) into 3D modelling and rendering software to produce lifelike multimedia outputs.
  • Technical capability in 3D visualisation development from storyboarding, modelling to VFX and Compositing.
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve desired visualisation outcomes

  1. A comprehensive CV demonstrating your relevant skills and abilities within the context of the Job Role Statement
  1. A statement outlining your sound skill, knowledge and experience in the following three (3) criteria in no more than three (3) pages:
  • Designing and presenting visualisations of complex technical concepts that easily communicate content to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Creating infographics and 2D and 3D renders as video and image outputs
  • Building and enhancing stakeholder relationships
  1. A copy of your current Western Australian motor vehicle (car) Driver’s Licence or approved equivalent
  2. If applicable to you (not mandatory), a copy of your Diploma in Screen and Media (Animation and Game Art) or other relevant discipline.
