WA College of Agriculture - Morawa (WACOA – Morawa) is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to fill the role of Technical Officer - Agricultural Instruction and to join their friendly team.
The college requires persons with agricultural experience to train students in competencies within agriculture, including sheep, cattle and general farm skills, and its related industries. The applicants will ideally have cropping and pasture knowledge and farm mechanics as desirable skills. The successful applicants will be required to train young men and women in the competencies of agricultural instruction leading to the completion of certificates in Agriculture.
WACOA – Morawa is a highly regarded College providing Agricultural Education and Training to students in Years 10, 11 and 12. We attract students from across Western Australia to study specialised agriculture. This is through a combination of Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) subjects, and nationally accredited certificates, with a focus on agriculture and supporting trades areas. This position, along with a small trade section, is supported by a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Program Coordinator.
The College is located next to the town of Morawa, which is 100km from the coast and one and a half hours away from the services and amenities of the City of Geraldton. We provide small class sizes for program delivery which offers the opportunity to work flexibly with the individual needs of each student.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
Please note: The salary level for this position will be determined after the successful applicant is assessed as addressing all eligibility and selection criteria indicated in the relevant attached JDF in the context of the outcomes and selection criteria described.
The highest rate an applicant can start at as a L1 is Level 1.4 (as negotiated with the principal). However, applicants may still be able to commence at a L2.1 or L3.1 if suitably qualified or with requisite experience.
Level 2, $70,432 - $75,516 per annum (PSCA 2022) + 15.3% commuted allowance (PSCA 2022)
Level 3, $79,156 - $84,977 per annum (PSCA 2022) + 15.3% commuted allowance (PSCA 2022)
