Coastal Lakes College (CLC) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics teacher to join our collegiate team.

You will ideally be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments. Professional knowledge, understandings, and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school Mathematics curriculum will be well regarded.
Experience in teaching senior school Mathematics courses – both ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) and General, is highly desirable. As an expert practitioner you should possess a commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection.
Another key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and differentiate educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering to different student learning needs.
In this role, the successful applicant will ideally develop innovative classroom practices utilising the college’s cutting-edge IT (Information Technology) infrastructure and should exhibit an understanding of High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS). In this environment you should provide integrated, personalised and authentic learning experiences for students.
The college has a strong STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) focus, working in an innovative partnership with its local primary schools. CLC, located in Lakelands, a south-western suburb of Perth in the City of Mandurah, opened in 2019 and will cater for students from Year 7 to 11 in 2023. It is a new and innovative college which includes an Inclusive Education Hub for students with moderate to severe and profound disabilities and will cater for students in Years 7 to 12 by 2024, across the college.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
