Margaret River Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a Secondary Generalist Teacher to join their high-quality regional school.
About the role
The successful applicant will ideally display the ability to provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for different student learning needs as outlined in the Australian Curriculum, employing research based high impact teaching strategies. Experience using online Learning Management Systems such as Compass or STILE will be seen as desirable.
It will be highly regarded if the successful applicant can develop a supportive and positive classroom environment, possess effective interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively and effectively in a professional learning community setting. The successful applicant should display an ability to elicit positive student behaviour using an educative approach.
They should have a commitment to inclusive education and a strategic approach in planning for improved student outcomes. The capacity to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of students with a range of achievement levels, language backgrounds and learning difficulties will be well regarded. In keeping with this, the successful applicant will ideally be committed to maximising the engagement and progress of all students.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
