Hollywood Primary School (PS) is seeking a professional, hardworking, and reliable School Psychologist to join their team for start of 2024 on a part time (0.2FTE) permanent basis.

Hollywood PS is located in the suburb of Nedlands. The school's unique location, only 5 kilometres from the CBD, affords easy access to hospitals, universities and quality leisure and sporting facilities. Enrolments are consistently around 370 students and national testing results support the school's reputation for strong academic achievement.
The School Psychologist provides support in three main areas:
Behaviour:
They work with students, parents, and their schools to identify and change target behaviours at the individual, group and systemic level.
Learning:
Conduct assessments of students experiencing learning difficulties and/or disabilities at schools. Support schools in making appropriate curriculum adjustments for students in order to enhance their learning outcomes
Mental Health and Well-being:
Provide direct support for students experiencing mental health and wellbeing difficulties and assist the school to maximise the development of positive mental health and well-being programs.
The successful applicant will support the emotional wellbeing of identified students to assist them to achieve their educational goals. You will ideally have substantial experience in working with students who are identified as gifted and talented.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work-related requirements (selection criteria):
- Ability to implement school psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention.
- High level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
- Ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold or be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
