Appointment Pool
Sir David Brand School is seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2024.
Suitable applicants will ideally have the sound pedagogical knowledge and instructional skills required to run high quality, targeted student programs. In addition, the suitable applicants should have sound organisational abilities and leadership skills. A positive team work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills are a large component of the role as is an ability to cater for the high support and diverse learning needs of students with disabilities. Effective and positive behaviour socialisation skills are highly desirable.

Located in Coolbinia, adjacent to the Yokine Reserve, Sir David Brand School provides high quality learning opportunities for students from 4 to 18 years of age. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
