Kambalda Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.

This role will suit someone who is a student-focused, highly motivated team player passionate about creating exciting learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn in students.
The Ideal Teacher
The successful applicant will ideally be a conscientious, flexible, and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole child. You will ideally be actively involved both within the school and wider community, highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation. You will work in teams to collaborate, moderate, and develop programs of work that meet individual student needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships are highly desirable.
The successful applicant will ideally possess the professional knowledge, practices, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach and have success working with students across a range of ability levels, including multi-age/split year groups. You should have a strong knowledge of all key elements of Early Childhood and Primary curriculum and pedagogy. An understanding and/or experience in the school’s whole school programs is desirable. A strong background in Explicit Instruction and strong behaviour support capabilities is highly desirable. You should have a belief that all students can achieve.
The successful applicant will ideally be relationship focused with a consistent and transparent classroom management approach and a willingness to adopt the whole school Restorative Practice approach to behaviour management. You should be enthusiastic, seek opportunities for innovation and leadership and possess the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Our School
Kambalda PS caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 and is located 55 kilometres south of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Our values of resilience, organisation, persistence, confidence and getting along are embedded in how we operate and in everything we do.
We are a small school with a stable, quality teaching staff implementing excellent teaching practices. We have a range of teaching staff with varied experience, and you will enjoy a high level of support from our Principal and Deputy Principal. Processes across the school are aligned with Department of Education (DoE) policies and procedures, ensuring quality teaching and success for all students. All students are catered for on an individual level with success and high achievement goals.

The Location and Community
The Kambalda community has a rich mining history and is surrounded by bushland and copper-coloured soil. The views of the vast saltwater Lake Lefroy and panoramic sunset vistas from the Red Hill Lookout are a favourite of the locals, as is the bush walk that leads you to the Old Red Hill Mine Vent historical landmark.
Our school has a strong pastoral care focus enhancing the delivery of curriculum through the provision of rich authentic classroom learning experiences. Student engagement and curriculum are in line with trauma-based strategies so all students can access learning.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
