Kelmscott Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics teacher to join their team.
This is your opportunity to display innovative, contemporary teaching practices that develop the school as a centre of teaching and learning excellence, and to proactively contribute to an evolving Mathematics program whilst inspiring students to achieve more.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience in teaching upper and lower school Mathematics and possess strong skills and experience in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Mathematics, or the capacity to do so in the future.
The experience to teach lower school Gifted and Talented (GAT) is also desirable. You will ideally possess a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at all phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and be skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all learners. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment will be well regarded as well as a willingness to engage in professional learning and liaise with colleagues, parents, and external networks.
As the successful applicant, you should actively participate in professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on your classroom practice to sustain a culture of high-quality teaching and ongoing improvement.
We are seeking applicants with knowledge and skills to utilise systemic data such as Student Achievement Information System (SAIS), National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) and Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) to address individual student learning needs.
Kelmscott SHS will implement a school-wide Teaching and Learning Instructional Framework addressing high impact teaching strategies. Teachers will design and deliver lessons aligned to the Framework and receive coaching and feedback. We are seeking a highly reflective teacher with a growth mindset and desire for continuous improvement.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
