This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2023 with possible extension and/or permanency
Donnybrook District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint an energetic and motivated individual to fill the role of Teacher - Secondary Generalist and join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will ideally be able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching. They should incorporate current and emerging technologies to best meet the needs of our students. Knowledge of and the ability to use learning strategies that successfully engage students will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will ideally engage in reflective practice, have a strong evidence-based teaching philosophy and be committed to whole-school pedagogical approaches. They should have high expectations and display a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment using a ‘restorative’ approach that focuses on building social and emotional learning competencies.
Donnybrook DHS is entering a new planning cycle in 2023 and the Deputy Principal will play a pivotal role in the implementation of our new Business Plan, ‘Your Child; Our Focus’. This is an exciting time to join a truly unique educational setting and a school that genuinely cares for the students it is entrusted to teach.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
