Carnarvon Community College (CC) is seeking a Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teacher to join their high-quality regional school.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Carnarvon Community College in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $10,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
About the Role
As the successful applicant, you will ideally be an innovative and highly motivated educator with the ability to provide quality teaching in the HASS learning area as part of a dedicated team. You should have a passion for the HASS curriculum and a deep understanding of instructional strategies to effectively engage students in the learning process.
You will ideally be a reflective practitioner who actively engages in activities to improve your professional practice. The successful applicant for this position will be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments. You should have the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school HASS curriculum.
As an expert practitioner, you will ideally have a commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
