Eaton Community College (CC) is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and competent leader to join our senior leadership team in the role of Program Coordinator – Student Services. It is desirable that the successful applicant possesses exceptional interpersonal, organisation and management skills to complement leadership capabilities. A key component of the role is to develop the Student Services team, ensuring our students have a safe, positive and caring learning environment. The purpose of the team is to develop the social skills, knowledge and understandings of our students and build capacity of our staff.
The case management of educationally at-risk students is essential and a personalised approach is a feature of our student services team. It will be important for the successful applicant to apply their professional knowledge and understandings to lead proactive strategies to promote behavioural change and learning support for at risk students. The role involves being a member of our senior leadership team, ideally have previous experience working across a school, leading teams and experience in working with external agencies. The successful applicant will provide direction, purpose to staff, build team capacity and promote a positive environment.

We are supported by an internal specialist literacy and numeracy program with a focus on developing students core reading and number skills. In addition, we have an Education Department endorsed Specialised Learning Program for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This program is embedded across all learning areas. Our specialist staff work with classroom teachers to effectively differentiate learning activities and prioritise individual learning needs. At Eaton CC we genuinely care about our students and as a result work hard to provide wrap around support. Our student services team provides extensive social emotional care to allow each student to confidently embrace every learning opportunity.
All staff are expected to adhere to the Department of Education Code of Conduct and actively participate in the school community. In addition, we provide every student with an Apple MacBook and therefore it is expected that staff will maximise the use of the web-based student portal Connect to provide online teaching, learning and assessments and transition away from a paper-based classroom.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
