Shorehaven Primary School (PS) is seeking a positive and enthusiastic Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher to work with existing teachers to grow the school’s academic and non-academic performance.
The successful applicant should have strong teaching experience and extensive knowledge of the Early Childhood Curriculum and practice. The ideal candidate should have high interpersonal and engagement skills to support and connect with students and staff members. Shorehaven PS is looking for a team player that can easily adapt and has the flexibility to adjust their tasks to work effectively as part of a Kindergarten to Year 3 team.
A positive behaviours approach to behaviour management is embraced by our school with an emphasis on teaching students how to behave through weekly behaviour focus points and rewards for positive behaviours. The successful applicant should be respectful and embrace the school values and practices such as the positive behaviour approach.
Shorehaven PS is in its foundation year of operation. With the Indian Ocean as its backdrop, Shorehaven PS is the first primary school of its kind in Western Australia. Purpose built, the school will cater for the rapidly growing estates of Shorehaven, Amberton Beach, Alkimos Vista and Elavale. Amongst its facilities you will find two double storey teaching blocks, a large undercover area and many interesting play spaces for our students to access.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
