The Role

The Track Inspector will assist with the inspection, protection, certification and reporting on the safe and proper condition of all of Track Assets across the PTA network. The role also provides technical guidance, expertise and support in the maintenance and repair of Track Assets to meet all the PTA’s requirements and standards.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for qualified Track Inspectors who have completed Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure and who have experience inspecting railway systems/perways. You will have well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people.

Importantly, applicants will need to demonstrate a relevant understanding of:

  • Technical standards and codes of practice, particularly as they apply to the Perway
  • Railway Safety Management; and
  • Track fundamentals.

This is an operational position and applicants will need to work unsocial and irregular hours including shift and weekend work.
